Lucky Burns

Lucky entered the world of fire performance art in 2005 when he became active in the New York City fire community, helping to organize regular group practices, shows, and demonstrations.

His specialties include fire eating, fire poi, fire hula-hoping, fire contact staff, fire rope dart, fire snakes, contact juggling, and duet fire performances. Additionally, he has created the fire Frisbee and double-wicked fire wand, which appears as floating fire to onlookers.

He has studied under and worked with some of the best fire performance artists in the world. Most recently, Lucky traveled through New Zealand for nine weeks, where he trained amongst the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand, attended the country's annual juggling festival, and worked closely with the creators of both Home of Poi and the world renown circus school, CircoArts.

He performs both privately and publicly, having starred in both television pilots and music videos as well as at Disney's "Little Einsteins" movie premier, Atari game releases, Philadelphia's First Fridays street fair, and in the 2007 Sundance Festival's opening titles sequence. He was also one of the winners of Home of Poi's first "Around the World" photo contest, and will be featured in the company's 2008 calendar.

In addition to performing, Lucky has assisted in choreographing fire artists featured on "America's Got Talent" and at the annual Burning Man festival outside Reno, Nevada. He regularly coordinates group presentations for the Philadelphia Experiment organization and privately teaches those interested in this extraordinary art form.
